After the collapse, Thanatos had said he would take better care of his own health - and Zagreus had decided that he was going to hold the other man to his word. He pesters him until he agrees to take some of his long overdue vacation time, reserves a cabin tucked into a nearby mountain retreat for them to spend an extended weekend together.

Foresight, however, isn't always Zagreus's strong suit. He doesn't think about how likely inclement weather is at this time of year, and it isn't until he's grabbing his bag of clothes and leading Thanatos to the door as fat, heavy snowflakes fall around him that he realizes that they may be trapped there for a bit.

"Hopefully there's firewood," he says, choosing to remain optimistic. "Come on, it's freezing."

"We'll deal with whatever happens," he repeats and settles back down as much as he can with Zagreus shifting against him.

"... Just so we're clear, are we official now?"

Zagreus chuckles, relaxing a little himself. "Yes. I would like that very much."

[controlsthedie]

In reply, Thanatos twists to properly kiss Zagreus, smiling against his lips as he does so. "So do I."

[littlesprout]

Zagreus makes a surprised little noise, but he laughs softly against Thanatos's mouth, reaching up to gently catch the back of his neck. "You're adorable. You know that, right?"

[controlsthedie]

"I am not adorable..." he pouts. "I strike fear into the hearts of many at work."

[littlesprout]

"I don't work with you, remember?" Zagreus says with a grin, chasing that pout with another kiss.

[controlsthedie]

Thanatos tries to keep the pout on his face a moment longer before he just has to laugh. "You're ridiculous.

[littlesprout]

"Yeah, and? You're the one who wanted to date me." He's physically incapable of not teasing.

[controlsthedie]

"I never said I had good tastes." He runs his fingers through Zagreus's hair.

[littlesprout]

"We've been official for two minutes and you're already bullying me?" He's trying so hard to give the puppy eyes.

[controlsthedie]

He plants a soft kiss between his brows. "Am I getting better at it?"

[littlesprout]

"Teasing me?" He kisses Thanatos's chin when it's near.

[controlsthedie]

"Yes, teasing you." Thanatos chuckles. "Did you think I was asking about these kisses?"

[littlesprout]

"It could have been both," Zagreus says gravely, and he's sort of leaning back on the couch now, just pulling Thanatos on top of him. "C'mere. Need to keep you warm." He just wants to hold him while they relax near the fire.

[controlsthedie]

"Mmm, it could have." Thanatos follows Zagreus easily, settling comfortably in his arms. "You are very warm. I have to wonder if this was your plan all along. Bringing us here."

[littlesprout]

"What? Of course not," Zagreus scoffs, but he's grinning. "I just thought it would be nice to go somewhere... remote."

[controlsthedie]

"So you could have me all to yourself?" Thanatos can't help to tease just a little more before dropping the act. "I can't really complain though. It does seem nice."

[littlesprout]

"Well, yes," Zagreus says, warm but serious as he leans up to kiss him again - more deeply this time. "Yes. I wanted you all to myself. And I wanted you to have me all to yourself, too."

[controlsthedie]

"It's a good thing we're official then because you're doing a great job of it." One deeper kiss deserves another. "You don't even have any butterflies to compete against."

[littlesprout]

"I have to compete against the butterflies?" Zagreus is trying so hard to look hurt.

[controlsthedie]

"You couldn't get close to me in the butterfly house because of them." Thanatos boops Zagreus's nose. "I was surrounded."

[littlesprout]

Zagreus rolls his eyes, but he's smiling. "You're right. I'd forgotten about that."

[controlsthedie]

"Your trial boyfriend was captured by butterflies, and you forgot?" Now it's Thanatos's turn to look hurt. (But not really) "I'm crushed."

[littlesprout]

"Captured?" Zagreus's scoff is loud but playful. "You were having the time of your life."

[controlsthedie]

"Hm, that's true." Thanatos wiggles against Zagreus to get into a more comfortable spot. "But I'm still crushed. They were very compelling and insistent that I stay."
